Serving Ramsey, Clifton, and Wayne, NJ
For years, MINI Cooper has been creating unique and innovative vehicles that have earned them a loyal following. MINI Coopers are efficient, attractive, quirky, and know how to stand out! If you're looking for an affordable compact car that's fun to drive, the MINI Cooper Clubman may just be the perfect vehicle for you. The Clubman is great for drivers who want a slightly larger MINI Cooper and it also comes available with all-wheel drive. Still, you may be wondering which model year to go with. Both the 2017 and 2018 MINI Cooper Clubman editions have many fantastic features. The 2017 Clubman was awesome, but the 2018 Clubman has received a few upgrades that make it even better. Let's compare them side-by-side in a few key categories to help you decide which year you like best.
Performance
For both model year lineups, the engines are essentially the same. The base models come equipped with a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder turbo engine that offers a decent amount of torque and horsepower. If power is extremely important to you, the top-of-the-line John Cooper Works Clubman might be a good choice. It's available for both 2017 and 2018, and features an impressive 228 horsepower engine with 258 lb-ft of torque! All trim levels come with either an automatic or manual six or eight-speed transmission. The MINI Cooper Clubman is highly responsive to the touch of its driver, has great acceleration, and solid braking. It's a breeze to maneuver in and out of traffic or through a crowded parking lot.
Appearance
Inside and out, both the 2017 and 2018 MINI Clubmans are gorgeous. For 2018, the Clubman has been upgraded tech-wise in a few areas. Its received Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so you can stay connected wherever you are! The new driver interface and large infotainment system is easy to use and has a simplistic yet elegant feel. New instrument panel upgrades have also been made to help improve driver visibility. A few other small interior upgrades have also been made to the 2018 lineup to make driver comfort more of a priority. The 2017 Clubman is still a great option. All models feature a roomy cabin constructed of high-end materials!
Safety
This vehicle has many features that help to improve driver safety in a variety of scenarios. The 2018 Clubman comes standardly equipped with rearview cameras and parking sensors. It also has brighter lights and high contrast instrument panel colors to make driving at night easier. Adjustable seats and mirrors have also been tweaked a bit to help improve driver visibility. 2017 models have many of these features available, but they are not standardly equipped.
