Your choices for the Soul engine provide 130, 161, or 201 horsepower, and only the top engine is turbocharged. Additionally, the Countryman plug-in hybrid debuts in 2018, putting out 221 horsepower. Soul doesn’t offer a hybrid vehicle.
All-Wheel Drive
The MINI Cooper and Cooper S Countryman are available with the ALL4 all-wheel-drive option, the most advanced AWD system in its class. It provides superior traction on all surfaces and in all weather conditions. It all delivers optimal tracking stability when taking sharp turns at speed. The Kia does not offer AWD, you can get only a forward-wheel drive Soul.
Features
Both the MINI and the Kia offer many features, but several important ones are standard on the Countryman but optional or not available on the Soul. For example, the Countryman comes standard with a rearview camera and a rear parking aid, Soul doesn’t. The MINI provides knee airbags to front row occupants, but they are unavailable in the Kia. The Countryman offers an 8-speed automatic transmission vs the 7-speed offered by the Soul.
