2016 MINI Convertible Highlights
The new 2016 MINI Convertible is slated for introduction in March 2016. It is a luxury 2-door, 4-seat soft-top based on a platform from corporate parent BMW. The Gertrag 6-speed manual is standard, or you can get a Sportmatic automatic tranny with paddle shifters. The car is equipped with a stop/start system for extra efficiency. Dynamic Damper Control can be set to Comfort or Sport settings, while the Driving Mode Selector lets you a tighten up the sport suspension. The new power soft-top can be raised or lowered in 18 seconds, even when driving 18 mph. With a single touch, the fully lined soft-top folds quickly, creating a sunroof. The top's glass backlight can be heated to keep you warmer on cold days. The convertible top has a stiffened structure and is reinforced at the A-pillar. Pop-up hoops behind the rear seats actuate within 150 milliseconds when sensing a potential rollover.
